Emerson Climate Technologies to hire 390 in Batesville

A heating and air company will take its operation and convert it to house a compressor plant for refrigeration that is expected to employ almost 400 workers within six years. The company said demand is rising for its Copeland Scroll compressors, which are used for refrigeration and have fewer moving parts. Emerson wants to start production in 2010.
