Governor discusses his friendship with Gwatney: Update
Governor Beebe will talk about his friend Bill Gwatney at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon in the Governor’s Conference Room at the Capitol.
Update: The governor, with Ginger at his side, discussed his friendship with Gwatney and what this loss means to the state in a 20 minute news conference at the Capitol. Arkansas Business covered the event, and KTHV-TV has video.
Funeral Arrangements: A service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church under the direction of Rev. Vic Nixon.
500 Days:
That's how many days Bill Gwatney served as chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party. I'm thumbing through my e-mail and blog archives and found this grainy cell phone picture of him being elected by acclamation in Hot Springs 501 days ago. Elsewhere in the blog archives, you'll see that Gwatney was twice named to the Democrat-Gazette's Top 10 list as a state senator (1995, 2001).
