Friday filings

Still no candidate for U.S. Senate on file. Mark Pryor may have to arrive at the Capitol via snowmobile to get filed under the wire. Three state legislative incumbents have yet to file (although all have announced their intentions to run again): Rep. Bubba Powers (filed), Rep. Sharon Dobbins and Rep. Bryan King. The filing period closes Monday at noon. I'll post a list of all of today's filings here.

Update: Pryor will be filing at 1:30 this afternoon.

Update II: John J. Petruccelli filed to run against incumbent Circuit Judge Mike Maggio in the 20th Judicial District this morning (Faulkner, Searcy and Van Buren counties).

Herbert Broadway (R- LR) filed against Rep. Wilhelmina Lewellen in HD34;
James McLean (D-Batesville) filed in HD72 and will face Vickie Critcher;
• Incumbent Circuit Judges Mark Hewitt and Kim Smith filed for reelection;
Stephanie Malone, niece of John Boozman, filed for HD64;
James McMenis filed in the crowded HD7 Dem primary;
Rep. Bubba Powers filed for re-election in HD3;
U.S. Senator Mark Pryor filed as scheduled today;
Patrick Bewley (D) filed in HD70 and will face Robert Dale (R);
John Burris (R) filed in HD85 and will face Bill Witty (D);
Cecily Skarda filed against incumbent 6th Judicial District Circuit Judge Mary McGowan;
Paul White will face Robert Herzfeld in the 22nd Judicial District race for circuit judge.
George Hallman joins the crowded Dem primary in HD21.


Update III: Due to the weather, the Miller County Courthouse is closing at noon. Candidates for local office here can file on Monday morning, and the filing period will close at noon Monday.
